The Birth of Kille Torna Resort:
Akshay and Beena’s love for travel, combined with their passion for promoting Indian culture, laid the foundation for Kille Torna Resort. The name itself reflects their roots, with “Kille” paying homage to the forts of Maharashtra and “Torna” standing tall as a symbol of strength and history.
This resort is not just a getaway; it’s a canvas where their life stories unfold. From the bustling markets of Mumbai and Pune to the tranquil shores of Singapore, the vibrant streets of Vietnam, the wild landscapes of Tanzania, and the mystic allure of Myanmar –every experience is woven into the fabric of Kille Torna Resort.
Akshay's Journey:
Born and raised in the vibrant city of Mumbai, Akshay’s academic prowess led him to attain a Bachelor’s in Mechanical Engineering and a Master’s in Management Studies with a specialization in finance from prestigious institutions in India. Akshay has had a stellar professional journey and held coveted positions in large international organisations across a variety of domains like telecommunication engineering, international trade, commodities, distribution, and marketing. In his last assigned as a Country Head and CEO, Akshay left an indelible mark and also decided to pivot top his passion of building community, legacy and personal space. Thus came together the concept of Kille Torna which is now a tranquil haven that we are witnessing.
Beena's Odyssey:
Beena, a Pune native, is a holds a Master’s degree in Arts with a passion for art and her artistic endeavours have taken her to international heights, with various exhibitions showcasing her talent. Beena also extended her love for art to her students during her 12+ years of teaching art at the international school and ignited the right side of the brain for kids which are the bright future of tomorrow. She has been recognized by the international media on multiple occasions as she has not just embarked in her artistic journey but but also embraced the mission to promote Indian culture. Her culinary skills shine as bright as her artwork and she pioneered an initiative called “Beena’s Kitchen Life” a joyous endeavour with the Indian spices for the community of expats in Myanmar”.

One glimpse into Beena’s life in Myanmar, and you’ll find a fascinating chapter where she imparts the secrets of Indian vegetarian cooking. Students are taken on a journey through the bustling Indian market, accompanied by the aroma of spices and the vibrant colours of fresh produce. Beena, with her warm and friendly demeanour, guides participants to select the finest ingredients and created an immersive experience even before the cooking begins.
The fragrance of ginger, garlic, onion, and an array of spices fills the air as multiple pans sizzle with delectable creations. With an artful balance, Beena showcases the richness of Indian cuisine, using ingredients like turmeric, coriander, garam masala, mustard, cumin seeds, and lemon.The satisfaction of creating and savouring these authentic dishes fosters a deep appreciation for Indian vegetarian cuisine.
